Something wrong with the Forum.

When I open an email notifying me of a reply and hit view online, I get the comment. At the top there is a box that says

Home

the sub forum of the thread

A down arrow labelled more that goes to all the sub forums.

However, if I touch the home button, all I get is the latest comments unfiltered unsorted and jumbled up. And there is no link to all the subforums

please someone fix this

  • I understand what you're saying, but I don't have this difficulty myself because I use the PC in general (other than to view specific messages).

As I said before, perhaps it would help if you were to open the forum via a browser (on your Phone / iPad) or is the screen the same as if you go via email?

Either way I'd email as suggested so it can be forwarded to technical support.

  • I think I have found the problem…

Its the "home" button.that is wrong.

it  takes you to the latest posts instead of "home" page at the top of the forums.

The problem is that once opened, there is no button to get out  and it closes off the back button.

the "More" button to the right opens a list of options including "forums" that opens what should be on the "home" button.

  • The workings (or lack of) this place have been debated at length in various threads & we've been assured they are making progress.

I am only relaying the information passed down.  Of course it is quite possibly true that some problems people experience could be due to malfunctioning equipment/software they are using - not just the forum - or their choices in general, as you allude to.  It may surprise you to learn this is a newer version of forum - and the older one was even clunkier.

I do think emailing might be your best answer, but in truth you'd probably be better going into the forum directly than via emails sent, I'd have thought.

  • That makes some form of sense. However, I like to engage in a forum sitting in the comfort of my armchair or in bed on my iPad or phone. Other forms seem to be able to deal with mobile devices so why can't This one?

  • The forum displays better on a PC than a mobile device.

The bigger the screen, the better too.

It's also fairly important you are running up-to-date Windows or operating system to avoid extra issues.

If you feel there are additional problems, the quickest way of bringing them to the attention of the powers-that-be is by emailing  CommunityManager@nas.org.uk  with a description of the issue.   They do conduct regular maintenance periods, but there's a litany of issues and complaints too.
