My kindle has gone weird!

I went to down load a book onto my kindle from the device itself, I've done this loads of times and never had a problem, but a couple of days ago I went to do it and went to the kindle search bar and instead of giving me amazon options, it gave me bing, I could see amazon as an option, but it wouldn't let me click on it, everytime I tried to get to kindle books, it just shoved me back to the bing serach page. I had to get my books via my lap top which works fine and downloads everything to my kindle.

I don't know why this would happen, I never use bing, it's the second most annoying search engine after anazon silk.

Is ny kindle joining the ever growing list of stuff thats dying or has amazon sold out to bing, or is bing being aggressive? I'm going to have to go and look at washing machines tomorow, ours has got really bad dementia, it keeps forgetting where it is and what it's doing half way through a wash and takes ages to remember again.

  • I'm impressed you used a kindle. I wouldn't have a clue.

I hate the technology of modern washing machines. They are complicated, easy to turn off if you get close and have far more programmes than I need. The best one I had was one with a dial which lasted for years...and it had an actual manual where you could look anything that went wrong. We had to get an engineer out for our last one who reprogrammed the computer in it.

  • The kindle was really easy, I bought it in a supermarket, I got home and amazon somehow knew I'd bought it and I could just download stuff in a few clicks. I was dreading setting it up, but it was fine, I wish everything tech wise was so easy.

The only washing machine that didn't have to many programes was my ancient twin tub, but that was because I had to stand there and supervise it. I think most people only use 2 or 3 of the available programes. I'm just looking forward to having a quiet machine that dosen't try and walk out of it place and join us at the kitchen table.

  • Yes that's a bonus regarding the walking machine and I can confirm that this is a plus with our current one. Wishing you all the best for your quieter machine. That too is a bonus.
