complain for change

Just heard a discussion on bbc radio 4 regarding the poor level of understanding and care given to people with learning disabilities, particularly in health care.  For instance I did not know the people with learning disabilities have the right to a full medical every year.

Anyway the ombudsmen on this programme has asked people to log their complaints on a, website called "complain for change".  She is hoping that this information will help her identify areas that need addressing, and hopefully make changes for the better.

Thought I would just let others know.

  • I think that people with Asperger's should have the right to a full medical each year as well, but only if they want this themselves.

People with AS often have Alexythemia,  which IntenseWorld has already referred to in posts. Therefore, physical problems might be misattributed and ignored, and there is also the issue of sensory under or over sensitivity, with under sensitivity perhaps being the main concern here.
