did you delete all my posts from a thread?
Hi both,
This conversation is heading in the same place as the thread I removed. I'm locking it, if you'd like to discuss this situation further please email me on community.manager@nas.org.uk
Intenseworld - your conversation is now up.
Anil A - Mod can you tell me why my pending moderation comment (in reply to yourself) was not posted please?
The Unpredictable - perceived implication is not accusation.
Anil A - Mod said:The conversation wasn't only "unproductive" it was downright uncivil. It's hardly big brother Intenseworld. We work hard to maintain the community as a civil, supportive place. Removing petty arguments is hardly the height of censorship.
Anil A, I think you misunderstood. If you see a member claim "[insert user name] created other accounts to spam this site which you'd banned" would you not ban them (or consider it or whatever)? "
Someone accused ME of this, and I was angry cos if you saw it you would ban me for something i didn't do... i mean if someone tells you i have more than one account, they could be lying or just be mistaken... so yeah, make sense?
I tried posting a reply on here (twice), it was pending moderating and still hasn't been posted?
Hi both,
I'm not looking to ban anyone. It goes beyond whether or not you could cope with it, it reflects very poorly on the community as a whole when it's members act in such a fashion. We have plenty of people who stop by here looking for advice and support and that conversation was entirely counter to the spirit of the community.
Anil A, I wasn't the one being mean though... I thought Intenseworld had accused me of spamming the forum as he called this person a child and said not surprising there was spam following a discussion the day before...and the day before i asked you something referring to using another account while you're banned if you remember which isn't allowed... so i assumed he was referring to me when he said that so i "shot back" at him. cos of that he assumed i was lying with a guilty conscience or something orr trying to cover up so i was like wtf so i replied with a sarcastic remark that i spammed cos i'm just so sad lol then you delete MY posts too JUST COS OF INTENSEWORLD'S ASSUMPTIONS?! I didn't (and still don't of course :P )really want to be banned just cos someone else assumes who i am/what i did...
That is debatable according to individual opinion. I was coping with it and apparently The Unpredictable was too judging by his/her apparent indignance at having his/her posts removed.
You have proven my point delightfully by stating that the posts were "petty", but still removed them anyway.
The conversation wasn't only "unproductive" it was downright uncivil. It's hardly big brother Intenseworld. We work hard to maintain the community as a civil, supportive place. Removing petty arguments is hardly the height of censorship.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orwellian
"Big Brother
The most common sense of Orwellianis that of the all-controlling "Big Brother" state, used to negatively describe a situation in which a Big Brother authority figure — in concert with "thought police" — constantly monitors the population to detect betrayal via "improper" thoughts. Orwellian also describes oppressive political ideas and the use of euphemistic political language in public discourse to camouflage morally outrageous ideas and actions. In this latter sense, the term is often used as a means of attacking an opponent in political debate, by branding his or her policies as Orwellian. When used like this in political rhetoric if it is not sincere, it is interesting to note as it can be a case of a hypocritical Orwellian strategist denouncing Orwellian strategies."
big brotherness? I don't get it...?
Mine were deleted too. Anil A - Mod viewed the discussion as unproductive, apparently the rules are that restrictive.
It's just as well I view helping others as more important than big brotherness. For now.
