My son has badly been failed by his College in that they have done liitle on his LDA to support him in education. He has Aspergers and severe co-occuring specific learning difficulties.
His reading and writing are so poor that he cannot access education without specific assistive software, yet he has been droped down a level in his study rather than the college providing the software needed to enable him to meet those needs.
I'm about to go straight to stage two of the complaints proceedure of the college mainly because all requests for a reveiw meeting with the SEN co-ordinator; by both myself and his Connextions worker, have been ignored.
I also need to site the act under the disability act that they have breached by their failure to comply with his LDA. Does anyone know what that act is?
My son is about to become a NEET due to his experiences and his metal health is at an all time low. I'm not sure where to turn. Just been told by connecxtions to lodge a complaint, but feel it's shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.?
Deeply distressed now. :(
