Dream job?

When I was in primary school. I was always looking at books with trucks, Simi-trucks and all that, I even said I wanted to be a truck driver, but that wasn't true, I wasn't interested in reading then or now, When I was in High School, even though Music and History were my strongest subjects, I wanted to try and go down the medical rout and become a doctor. But by 4 year, I got into the higher class, but the words got bigger and more complicated to understand, so I lost my confidence there and then, so I shifted my attention to Music and history. Being the only two subjects I ever got good marks in and the only ones I've ever passed, I went to college and studied music for three years and did one year in Audio engineering, So my main focus was to be in a band, perform on stage, write music and all that, Wich I do these days, But not as often, My other jobs include, Video editing, Filmaking and photogrophy,

Going through College, I was doing videos for Youtube and I needed an editing software, I used and still use Sony Vegas, and from then I started to get used to doing video editing and that's how I ended up with that job in the first p[lace, Eveyrone always asked How I got into Video editing and media production, Well, I didn't It just started as a hobbie.

Has anyone else ever gone through the same experience?

If so, I would love to hear

  • Your work sounds exciting and like the sort of thing you enjoy doing. I currently work as a typist, something I enjoy but not a dream job.

Growing up I loved the idea of being an actress or more specifically a cartoon voice actor – I’m a natural mimic, apparently this is often seen in autistic people – and I would spend hours in front the mirror pretending I was reading an animated script.
When I was a little older (between 10-16) I began trying to animate my LEGO. I wanted to make my own animated series and a mini-movie, I never completed it as the stresses of school and exams became too much and everything else had to take a backseat and be put on hold.
I spent a lot of time doing these small animations, and watched a lot of hours worth of animating videos, behind the scenes videos and videos of other voice actors and directors as making my own series or movie really appealed to me.
If school hadn’t got in the way I wonder how far I would have got.

So I suppose my dream job is still voice actor and TV/movie director. I generate so many ideas for such things and in my free time I still do a little animating, nothing special but it’s a fun pastime and maybe one day it might lead to bigger things.
