Three curious quirks!

In the spirit of the three good things post which I love, I thought I would start a new post about three curious quirks. Looking at the forum history there does seem to be a couple of posts around quirks but thought it might be easier to create a new one, especially since its springtime now...

Here goes three of mind to get things started...

1. When it comes to gloves, socks shoes, anything that comes as a pair I must sort out the right before the left...

2. When I get excited or nervous my nose for whatever reason becomes really itchy and I rub it like some kind of rodent with both hands...I've always done this since a child

3. I have a tendency to make up a lot of my own words and names for people/things etc, some examples...I call Bedlington terrier dogs, Lamerriers as to me they look like a cross between a lamb and a terrier, a large group of people I would describe as a flockamock, etc Its interesting to see how others pick up on these words and start to use them. They then can get strange looks from others who don't really understand the strange language Slight smile

Would be interested to hear/read about your three curious quirks...

  • 1. Routine is everything. If I stay in a hotel I have to have the same thing for breakfast in the same order each time - orange juice, croissant, coffee, scrambled egg and beans on toast, fruit chunks. I recently booked four sets of flights to Europe - same airline, same airport, same seat number on every one Slight smile

    2. if I type a text or email that mentions the name of a football team I have to type it out in full. Cannot say Spurs or Wolves, has to be Tottenham Hotspur or Wolverhampton Wanderers. And it's Newport County 'AFC' because the club was re-formed in 1989.

3 I have massive playlists in Spotify of my favourite bands - each one is arranged in chronological order of everything they have ever recorded so in the case of Pink Floyd and David Bowie this is several hours of listening. If I decide to listen to one of those playlists I have to go through the whole thing start to finish (obviously in several sittings - at work, in the car etc) before listening to anything else.

Why do I do these things? No idea but they bring me a strange sense of comfort somehow
