Critical situation on the community

Hi all,

I'm sure that many you have noticed we're getting an enomous amount of spam in a very short period. We're under some sort of coordinated attack and unfortunately we have few options to prevent it, technical or legal. 

We're going to be around to try and keep a handle on it and the community useable, but it's likely to be a challenging time until it stops. 

At the moment, we're considering temporarily turning off new registrations - to preserve the community for you all. I'll keep you all updated best I can.

    We suspect that the spam will stop after the football tonight. With this in mind, we'll be temporarily turning off the ability to post in the forum for this evening. It's pretty far from ideal but we'll bring it back online tomorrow morning. Unfortunately we don't have the resources to be able to keep checking over night. 

    Very sorry that it's come to this, but we'll restore the functionality to post tomorrow. Even if we can't resolve the spam tomorrow, we'll be clearing it off as best we can to keep the forum going.
