I'm probably not as observant as I've always believed

I've recently been noticing something strange about myself and thinking back, I've probably always done this but not noticed it.

I recently stayed away from home for a while. I was shown my room and instantly thought "there's something wrong with that bed. I'm not sure what but there's definitely something wrong" It wasn't until later that night that I went to sit on the bed and noticed that my feet didn't touch the ground. I'm 6'1", the bed was about 4 foot off the ground.

I remember, as a kid, looking at the cornflakes box and thinking there was something wrong with the chicken on the box. My mum always said it was just a drawing and not supposed to be lifelike. It wasn't until the new adverts that I realised that it's the colours.

I could continue listing these weird semi-observations but I'd never end. Just one more though, it may be related. I recently stood by and watched a group of kids crossing a busy road. I knew there was something wrong with them being in the middle of the road but it wasn't until they were across that I realised the danger they were in and that I could have helped in some way.

Anyway, has anybody else noticed this sort of thing in themselves and have any amusing examples?
