Abilify and Risperdone are the only medications I believe that have been tested on autistic people. You may want to do some research on that as there is research out there. I have been prescribed Risperdone in the past to help me with my repetitive thinking so helping me with my autism. I experienced side effects though and now on Seroquel which I am though trying to stop as I had side effects as well and just want to come off those medications now. I was on a low dose 50mg and had dsykenia movements so that encouraged me to come of it and I just wanted to try being myself again.
There was a time though it probably really helped me through a difficult timem but now I would like to come of it.
I would say that without doubt the Risperdone helped me with the repetitive thinking through a difficult patch I had with it. The Seroquel I am not so certain, but it did help me to rest at night for certain. Seroquel is at times used for the treatment of OCD perhaps the repetitive behaviour and perhaps that it is why my consultant thought it was worth it to try to help me manage my autism repetitive thinking. I probably should still be on it, but if i am through that bad patch, I should be ok. I will see how it goes and may introduce it back if I need to.
