It's something I've never liked.  It shows me  how little my contribution  is valued , and,indeed, how little I am valued as a participant here.

  • I don’t like it either. People seem to use them in different ways, eg. Approval or disapproval of the content, agreement or disagreement with a theory or belief, or as a ‘tick’ to show it has been noted. It is hard not to take it personally.
