Terminology a new way?

Had a quick thought about the terms used to describe late diagnosed autistics.

So many terms to describe us. These labels have been in the most created by NTs' so that they can describe us as a group in terms of their own idea of self.

So for a bit of fun here are a few fun terms that we could choose to use to describe ourselves or not as some of you do not like labels.

Please note that this is meant to be fun and not a debate as to the rights and wrongs. So here goes:

  • "Lateys" - Playful and easy to remember. It reflects the "late" aspect of diagnosis in a casual way.
  • "Latebloomers" - Suggests growth or realization later in life, emphasizing the positive aspects of self-discovery.
  • "Latelings" - A whimsical twist, similar to "earthlings," conveying a sense of belonging to a unique group.
  • "ASD Afterhours" - A fun, slightly quirky phrase to denote coming to the ASD realization later in life.
  • "Awakeneds" - Emphasizes the idea of becoming aware of one's neurodivergence.
  • "Latelighters" - A hopeful term, suggesting finding clarity or light later in life.
