Aspergers drivers

Hello this is my first time posting so please be nice. My 17 year old son has just been refused a driving licence because of his Aspergers, has anyone known of this happening before?

  • Did he take driving lessons?  if his instructor felt he was ready for his test and there were no problems caused by his AS when he was learning there is no reason for him to be refused.  The DVLA states that unless your GP states you shouldn't drive because of the condition (in which case they would have to have cause that it is affecting your driving) you can drive with AS.  I have AS and drive.
