It's something I find concerning. What do you think? No need to be consoling towards me. Maybe give me the truth as you see it! Most Autistics are good with the truth.

I like it. Thanks for sharing.
Hitler gained power through being elected, though he quickly disposed of the need to be elected afterwards.
Witness what is happening in America right now. In July of this year Donald Trump told Christians that if they vote for him for president this November, 'in four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote'.
This makes me think of this tweet

Thankyou Joan. Have a great weekend!
'But when we contemplate our forebears from eight decades ago, we should recall one crucial advantage we have over them. We have what they lacked. We have the memory of the 1930s. We can learn the period’s lessons and avoid its mistakes. Of course, cheap comparisons coarsen our collective conversation. But having a keen ear tuned to the echoes of a past that brought such horror? That is not just our right. It is surely our duty.'
A few years out-of-date, but still pertinent.
Thank you for sharing this! I'm reading it now.
Have you seen this? In trying to educate myself, I found it quite interesting.
I agree Mark.
Glad to hear from you again Martin. We still agree!
The rise of authoritarian political tendencies headed by unscrupulous, to say the least, personality cult figures is worrying. It is hard not to see parallels between Trump, Putin, Erdogan, Le Pen and Orbán and Mussolini, Hitler and Franco. Unfortunately, there are many people who are easily duped by such political charlatans; Hitler gained power through being elected, though he quickly disposed of the need to be elected afterwards.
When I was younger it felt like these ideas had been defeated, definitively, in World War II.
Latterly, I realise that those ideas never went away and they will always be there. There will always be people that blame other whole groups of people for their woes - and can't see them as individuals.
