Do you have a comfort item?
I have a comfort blanket which I carry round with me. Sometimes I carry it out in the open if I’m feeling more anxious than normal but most of the time it stays in my bag. Just knowing it’s there makes a huge difference for me. When I’m at home I always leave it on my bed and make sure it’s neatly folded in a certain way.
I’ve also got a comfort bear but she stays on my bed. I got her when I was six and she’s been my comfort bear ever since then really.
I have quite few toys in my bag. They support me emotionally. These two little dolls go everywhere with me in this little bag, and Jasmine from Disney cartoon with these two little plushies also live permanently in my bag. They are also good for stimming. I like touching the plushies or the doll’s hair and hands. The plushies are actually key chains, so that little ring is also good for stimming.
