onesie wednesday 2nd April coming

Now forgive me being a bit of a misery and cynic, but can someone please elucidate "onesie Wednesday" - maybe a NAS Moderator, as this is a NAS instigated fund raising event.

For one thing the idea that anyone wore attire like this was a revelation for me. Is this more American....or maybe a London thing.....?

But I wonder too what some spectrum folks think of rattling buckets in a crowded street wearing one piece pyjamas in a weird design.......

  • Purely from my point of view here, I agree that onesies by themselves do not represent an invisible disability all that well. Nor am in a rush to wear one, either. That said, it makes for a great visual impact and so I would wear one, particularly if it meant that a passerby stopped to ask me more about who I was fundraising for. Great opportunity to explain more about autism. 

     

    That said, I have floated some ideas for how to represent an invisible disability better from a campaigns point of view. Hopefully we'll be able to make them happen.
