'Gotta love the title of this paper: “A critical hit: Dungeons and Dragons as a buff for autistic people“. Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a tabletop roleplaying game where a small group of people each play characters adventuring in an imaginary world run by the dungeon master (DM). (That explanation was probably not necessary for the majority of readers here, but just to be thorough.) The game has just celebrated its 50th anniversary, which was even commemorated by official US stamps.'

Do you remember in the 80s when the USA had mass hysteria about D&D?
They used that as a bit of a backdrop for Stranger Things S4
I love computer game role playing games, but never dabbled in pen and paper.
Yeah I remember all the hysteria, teaching people devil worship and stuff like that.
I can't use the controls on consoles, so I've never used one and my magical ability to crash tech works really well on them, sometimes I only have to walk near them!
Pen and paper D&D is really educational and I think all children should be taught to play, it teaches spatial awareness, encourages imagination, drama and conflict reolution among other things, its also really good fun. By the way, Minotaurs always have South African accents!
