With ADD can you have periods of intense focus punctuated by very brief losses of focus? For want of a better explanation,like a shortened absence seizure.
Task switching in the brain is supposedly resource intensive. I can have a feeling of aimlessness, in the gap between tasks. I don't know what i have really, but it can be very self destructive and unproductive.
