I have been blessed with a rigid face (aka ‘flat affect’) and a voice that would lull an insomniac to sleep in seconds. This deadly combination seems quite common amongst autistic people. My emotions are often random and intense, but you wouldn’t know it just to look at me. People make quick judgements, and my face & voice are reasons to dismiss me as a robotic bore.

My Nan told me recently that it’s really hard to know what emotions I’m feeling by looking at my face, and my mum says that she never knows how I’m feeling until it’s ‘too late’ and I react strongly to something - this has always thrown me though because I often think how I’m feeling is really obvious!!
Yep, me too - I always thought it was obvious what I was feeling.
