What wildlife have you seen recently?

Homebird

I have seen very few butterflies this year. There is a walk I do near home and most summers I regularly see speckled wood butterflies there, but not yet this year. However I saw a beautiful sight this morning, a bright green dragonfly.

  • I saw a couple of hares looking at me this morning as I ran past. Rabbits from my bedroom window. Yesterday I had to stop my dog going after a Muntjac. Sadly this morning I also saw quite a few dead frogs on the road. Loads of bats around where I live too.

    I definitely see far fewer insects around (other than woodlice, which are around and in our house in abundance). Very few moths, butterflies and bees though, which makes me very sad.
