What do you watch on YouTube? Recommendations for autistic Youtubers

I spend far too much time on YouTube, and I'm looking for some new things to watch. Please let me know:

1) What your favourite thing is to watch on YouTube

2) What autistic youtuber/autism channels would you recommend?

My current favourite things to watch is "Rate My Takeaway" channel, and the autistic youtuber I learn a lot from is Orion Kelly

  • I will definitely check that out, sounds awesome. Thanks for the suggestion Slight smile

  • Maybe you already know them, but if you like behind the scenes stuff, have a look for "VFX artists react" on the Corridor channel. I'm not a fan of "react" videos, but theirs is more discussion of how a lot of films and TV were produced. Some of it is based on behind the scenes, some is just them theorising based on their experience. They have episodes going into practical effects, and have "Animators react" and ones about stunts as well. It's really interesting stuff. They had one recently on Wallace and Gromit.

  • Hey August, thanks for the nice comment.
I like a lot of behind the scenes movie stuff too! I have spent most of the day watching Adolescence behind the scenes as I found it amazing that they did each episode in one continuous shot.
I miss Robin Williams, he was such a great person and so funny.
Congratulations on your diagnosis, I hope you find being part of this community helpful! I’m still learning almost 2 years on from my diagnosis, and this community has been really good to learn from.
If you need any other recommendations for autistic YouTubers, let me know… I’ve got quite a playlist now.

Yes Lego is the best! Lol. Although it’s the most expensive interest to have! What’s your favourite theme? I recently just finished the Titanic, took be a solid full week but it looks amazing.

  • Furze is hilarious. Looking forward to seeing the car lift.

  • Hi Andy! Nice to meet you. Slight smile

I spend waaaayyyy too much time watching YT videos. I feel like I should be doing more, but I enjoy them and sometimes it can be learning videos too so I feel like that's ok. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! ;)

My fave videos to watch are either music videos or movie Behind the Scenes, I like watching outtakes from my fave movies, some of them can be so funny. I watch a lot of Robin Williams (RIP) Behind the Scenes and he was so funny in outtakes.

Highly recommend those, if you're in to that too.

I don't have a fave autism Youtuber yet. I'm not long diagnosed, so this is something I am still discovering for myself but I saw your own suggestion has really helped you so I will be checking out Orion Kelly for myself too as though I'm diagnosed now it's all still new to me and I really know very little about autism, so this channel will likely be a big help to me.

Thanks for creating this thread. I look forward to your reply - also, love your PFP, Lego is the best!

  • I spend way too much time on YouTube. In the evening I watch Watched Walker, it’s relaxing. It’s just a POV of walking around London. In the daytime it’s just lots of random crap. Colin Furze is quite entertaining with his secret underground tunnel. I also watch photography channels, candle making channels and Ambient Renders.

  • I love watching a channel called pithotv. It is an ASMR barber channel. So relaxing.

  • My favorite thing to relax is watching ASMR videos, particularly from Rebecca. If you haven't tried it out already, it might be very interesting for you! She makes my day.

  • Hey Wave  I don't watch anything in particular on YT usually just celebrities interviews, music vids, scenes from my fav movies. Helps me unwind and relax.

I haven't looked up any autistic videos before. Didn't even consider it tbh but I will now you've mentioned it.

  • I hadn't thought about watching something particularly for Autistic peeps. I did get into watching Willjum videos whilst he played Rust when I came down with COVID. I found them most enjoyable Slight smile
