After years of trying to get them to agree to help, it has finally happened, but where do I start. Any idea where I can go to begin the process of getting the help they need in Liverpool?
A good starting point would be what do they need help with?
If it is for talking to others about their issues then this forum is a great place to do this.
If it is for therapy then a private therapist is the best option - there are hundreds of therapists available in the UK if they are able to do it via a zoom call:

I recommend using the filter box to chose the issues most affecting them to narrow the list to therapists with these skills.
If it has to be local then you can use this list but I think most still prefer to use virtual sessions:
