Hi! I started a Minecraft server for people with Aspergers and Autism.

Hey everyone!

I am new here, and thought you might be interested in joining AspieCraft, a Minecraft server I started for people like us. It is heavily moderated and community funded. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

It would be nice if you guys stopped by! The IP is 144.76.218.148:25608

Hope to see you there,

  • I confess I'm not familiar with online gaming, but it's not really catering for the Aspie type of gamer then.. I gather from Compuerology that a closed game.. an Aspie Minecraft World can be created, if there're enough Minecraft gamers here.. Just checked and you can have private parties, invite only.

  • I wouldn't call having fun in Minecraft unhalthy, even if it is just lots of building.  I love spending hours collecting things.  I just collect everything and organise them in the storage chests.  It's only unhealthy if you're playing for hours and hours everyday and it starts affecting your life, but if it's only a few hours every so often there's nothing wrong with it.

I haven't played it in a while.  I might do that tonight.  But, I am just sticking to my local file on my PC because of my bad experience withthe server.  I can't stand the thought of someone coming in and ruining my collection, which is what happened.  He took a lot of my stuff, which made me rather angry.

  • I play minecraft offline with my 9yr old son. The idea of an Autie-only site sounds great!

I've been wondering though, I find minecraft appeals to my obsessive desire for control and perfection.. I spend hours building stuff; not interested in the play so much as building! My question is, is it healthy to indulge this?

  • I'm sorry that happened to you :(

I unfortunately do not own the server anymore (for several reasons, I will elaborate if needed), and do not play on it very often. It makes me sad to hear that some players are hurting the overall experience. Talk to TheAdamSkii if he is ever online, report the griefer to him and he will do something about it.

    Regards,

    Computerology

  • I've been playing on the server for about 6 weeks now and I've jus had to destroy all my stuff, which was about 20 crates full.  I've been enjoying myself up until now but someone came on called matthewg2 and he killed me, stole all my stuff, and then started taking apart my house on the normal section of the server.  He has now taken all of my stuff so I've decided not to take part anymore.  I was lulled into a false sense of security being on that minecraft server.

I'll just play on single player game from now on.  I put so much into that server, I kinda regret spending so much time on it now :(

  • Hi, we also run a minecraft server just for kids with autism and adhd, its monitored at all times by admin and is a whitelist only server so people cant just come on randomly, you have to apply here

    aplacetotalkaboutautismandadhd.co.uk/APTTACraft.php

its a great community and very friendly

  • What is the error message? If you are having difficulties try talking to the people on /r/aspiecraft, that is where most of the members talk when they are not actually playing the game.

  • Both! Anyone with autism, or somehow related to autism is welcome.

  • I for one would be wary of getting a free version from an unrelated website- you don't know what their intentions are or the quality of the game. You may also potentially not get updates that would occur in the properly obtained version, or not be able to get support for any issues that arise during playing. I believe the actual Minecraft game is a one-off payment?

  • I'd heard of minecraft but never knew what it was, only that it was some PC game.  I have just Googled and found out.  Apparently you can get it for free here:

How do you access it via an IP address?

what you have to do is go to the multiplayer section of minecraft and type in the IP address there.

ive just tried that , but I'm not getting connected for some reason.

  • Does "people like us" refer to people with autism or to people heavily into computers (who also have autism)?

  • How do you access it via an IP address?

  • I recently saw some people playing Minecraft and thought "that looks fun!" but when I went to play the demo sadly it crashed my computer :(
