Overwhelmed with social media.

I work from home as an artist. I can only produce a small amount of work as I have illness that makes me very tired and listless if I try to do too much. For the past few years now I have been posting my work on Facebook. I built a network of 2500 friends and shared other artists work. I have today deleted my account as I am becoming increasingly agitated by peoples bad behaviour, rude comments, insulting each other, racism, sexism, homophobia, swearing etc, etc. I was becoming stressed and upset so decided it had to go. Already I feel better for deleting my account.  The point I am trying to make is that most people with ASD do not cope well with stress, so anything that is causing it should be removed (if possible). • The only social media I use is email, and two forums.  I can't cope with Facebook either and I wouldn't touch Twitter.  I have an autism Facebook page but it's just for raising autism awareness it's not a personal page.  It's all so superfluous and OTT, and I don't get people sharing their entire lives online like that.  I hope you manage to maintain publicity for your work without the Facebook page.  You could start up a new one that is a business page instead of a personal one and set it to not accept comments.
