This is the end

Stormont is back up, and running, and the first motion is the XL Bully Ban coming here.

Sinn Fein are licking their lips at this. With Mary Lou McDonald even saying that a United Ireland is, "Within touching distance!" Once they set up shop both at Stormont and the Dail, the demons shall run amok. Big Brother will be let loose.

Though, to be honest, I wouldn't emigrate; if it happens. It would simply be a can-kicking exercise. Everywhere had Western values devalued.

We declared war in the biggest producer of Wheat in Europe, then expect us to live on a budget. All because a Bunch of Guardian-reading Talking Heads couldn't accept the 2019 General Election result.

We were programmed, from School-Age onwards, for War. We never had a sense of abundance, even in the most Prosperous era of all. And this was created by the Generation who preached Peace and Love.

  • I used to share your opinion 100%

Then I met Lexi, an Amercian Bulldog who by force of a lovely and patient personality turned me from "I don't like dogs" to enjoying being around Lexi.

But If I'd not met her, I'd most likely still share your opinion.

And wepaonising animals is just wrong, whether it's: A police dog, A mine laying dolphin, A drone hunting eagle (That's just horrible, whoever thought of that clearly hasn't seen what Carbon fibre props can do to a human hand let alone an eagles spindly little legs...)

  • In my humble opinion, dogs are not necessary and are a nuisance. I will grant there are exceptions - sheepdogs and guide dogs serve a useful purpose. I understand people might want a pet for comfort but my issue with dogs is people use them as weapons and they have no right to do so.

  • Being from the Republic, I totally agree and compared to here in the U.K. and Northern Ireland it’s even worse still in the Republic

  • I presume you mean the XL bully ban.

It is a bad thing because

    1) people who want to train big scary dogs to do bad things will now simply do that with another breed of dog.  There are plenty of breeds that are big and easily trained by bad people to be bad dogs!

    Meanwhile....

    2) there are now 35,000 XL bully dogs in the UK that aren't allowed to go out, without a muzzle or run off the lead.  Although 99.8% of those dogs had always been allowed to run around, play, chew sticks, chase balls, sniff things - all without problems with behaviour........ALL OF THEM ARE NOW LIKELY TO BE PRETTY PI55ED OFF because they can't do any of those things.....through no fault of their own.

Mean, cruel and dumb.  In my humble opinion.

  • Maybe I'm just being thick, but can someone explain to me, in simple terms, why this ban is a bad thing?
