I love such places, along with railways and trains! Historic places... Nice scenic places!
Not keen on crowded places though. Prefer rural exploring in the countryside!

Oh I typed in Abergavenny, must have copied an incorrect one. I'll edit it out now. Well spotted.
The castle in the first picture you have shown looks like Paxtons Folly..
I love castles and any old buildings. I love how different they are, how their architecture stands out and how they are surrounded by so much history. I live near Abergavenny and there's a historical castle there. I've seen it a few times but it's been closed each time I went, one day I will go and look around properly.

I also love beaches, sitting on a blanket and watching the waves is so relaxing. I like watching the boats as well. I can imagine being out on the water, it looks peaceful. My Gramps used to be a fisherman, he spent over 50 years out on the water, and had a great time during his life. When I was little he took me out with him but I found the smell of the fish overwhelming and it made me nauseous.
I prefer rural places as well. Nothing really beats it in my opinion which is why I live out in the country with only fields and wildlife for neighbours.
Nice. I went to Portsmouth once. We stood by these clear plastic walls. Then a giant hovercraft came in and parked on the slope. Stones flew everywhere!
The my Mum asked "How does it stop on the slope?"
I said "They put the handbrake on". Mum seemed happy with my reply and my Dad tried not to laugh!
Never been to the Isle of Weight but I have been abroad to Caldey Island a couple of times when I was young!
In South West Wales there are the remains of an abandoned village to be seen that was washed away during the tsunami.
Anyone like beaches and castles? Cos if you do, you'll love sandcastles!
Seriously though, yes. There's always something special about poking about old ruins and feeling the backwash of history making you visualise its ghosts. And a coastal walk or deserted beach is one of life's great pleasures. Some great ones in Donegal where if you set out on a summer's evening you'll barely encounter a soul yet the landscape is like a slice of heaven.
