I always start the day with a quote. It puts me in a positive and hopeful mood, which if I'm lucky will last the rest of the day.

It's a lyric but a good philosophical touchstone I sometimes reach for is 'Fate doesn't hang on a wrong or right choice, Fortune depends on the tone of your voice'.
