I've been working on a novel for the past four years now, and it's been quite the delecate operation for me given that one of the lead characters is autistic. I hope to work with my fellow counterparts here to perfect this story to some degree and to hopefully make this a heartwarming tale that'll pluck heartstrings everywhere.
I propose to use this as the front cover to the novel I have been working on. Featuring Sviatoslav Vulpula, an autistic vulpire. A species of vampire which are now defunct and fully mortal, whilst retaining the stereotypical attributes of a vampire. And his ever patient best-friend, Lily Taylor, a vixen who takes a strong liking to Sviatoslav, and has always helped him understand things in life he cannot decipher on his own.
The Sweethearts is a tale of two childhood friends, who have a strong bond that is soon put to the test when Lily is forced to move away from their hometown of Ashdale. Sviatoslav, being autistic, doesn't take this news well but eventually has to come to accept this despite the difficulties he has to deal with.
In spite of what's to come, Sviatoslav assures Lily that, "he can wait forever", until she can come home again.
Twelve years later, and Lily, a young adult of twenty, returns to the town and immediately reunites with her long-lost friend. But time has changed them both, and the two have to learn about each other all over again, whilst at the same time Sviatoslav struggles to express his feelings for Lily, who in-turn has to learn patience in order to show Sviatoslav how to feel.
Despite their best efforts, the two gradually succumb to their blossoming feelings for one another, and after a dance off in front of Romanian delegates, both Lily and Sviatoslav profess their love for one another, and seal the deal with a kiss during a moonlit swim.
However, an unsavoury character comes to town to enact a vengeance against one person in particular, which ends up culminating in a deadly showdown.
With Lily and Sviatoslav caught in the crossfire, will their love be torn apart once again? Or will their newly ignited romance defy their fears and triumph?
