Are Parents to blame for pupils non attendance at school?

I have just read a newspaper article that annoyed me.

I know the pandemic gave pupils a different view of school where non attendance was possible.

I know this made returning to school difficult for my autistic son.

However it annoys me when I read reports like this, especially when I know how difficult it was for my son and for his parents in supporting him with this.

I know there are some young people who are still struggling to get back to school.

I wonder what opinions are from others.

Parents
  • no, the school is to blame for being rubbish, and the other pupils are to blame too.

my parents ensured i went to school, but school itself and the pupils were so bad that in the end i ditched school by breaking out the back fence. but i still went to school just that i broke out of it, my parents ensured i got to school.... then school didnt ensure i stayed there as i broke out their back fence lol but i wouldnt do that if the pupils and school itself wasnt horrible. so its not parents fault at all, its schools fault.

  • I never finished school. I used to walk out in the break time and walk along an abandoned railway track and I am now the sexiest man in the world so not too bad a transition he he he
