Seasons Greetings

Seasons greetings my online family. I hope wherever you are, however old, you are enjoying the festive period and it is not causing you too much distress.

So far I have got through the festive season relatively unscathed. Perhaps I have lost a little dignity having been dressed up as Father Christmas by my great grandchildren, however it has not been too bad all things considered.

Today and tonight have been a night of rest for myself. I have a fresh new hair cut, have a wee whiskey on my right and a Christmas LP playing on the turntable. If Christmas Day was like this it would be heavenly.

Unfortunately I am not that lucky and my Good Lady has decreed that the entire family shall be coming. Blast! The majority will arrive tomorrow and the rest of the Old Timer flock will arrive on the big day itself.

No rest for the wicked.

I trust your Christmas Eve and Day will be a grand one. Enjoy!

  • Merry Yuletide to you and everyone else too.

It sounds as though your great-grandchildren had fun dressing you up as Father Christmas. For what it's worth, I don't think my son has ever forgiven me for dressing him up as Father Christmas when he was 6 months old. I thought he looked adorable, but he just looks at the photos now and cringes with a mixture of embarrassment and humiliation. Laughing
