Autism club in school

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone.

I work as a TA in a secondary school, and a student raised an idea that I hadn't considered before. 

I'm also diagnosed with ASC and I have never heard of this concept before either, so I thought I would posit this idea to the community and see what comes forth! 

The child in question raised the idea of an Autism Club in school, that would be for neurotypical and neurodivergant students to learn about Autism and what the condition entails. 

Has anyone ever heard of a club like this in schools?

Moreover, do you know of any resources that I could find that would help me with such a group? 

Any advice or comments would be welcome.

    I am intrigued ... I imagined a group of kids gathered around a cheeseboard with an assortment of cheeses, crackers, and maybe a few grapes, and comparing tasting notes ...  " slightly salty with a hint of mushroom soup ... "  There are some really good artisan cheeses available these days ... and I love the names like Stinking Bishop and Wyfe of Bath.

    It also reminds of how, back in the last century, we used to get 1/3pint bottles of milk in school ... and on Mondays the milk monitor had to take out the crate of not quite empty bottles, the dregs of which had fermented next to the radiator over the weekend.

    Making yogurt and cheese would be a good subject for food technology class ... I wonder if any school has tried making their own cheese?
