I did see the link before it was removed.

Personally I do not see the harm in posting such news stories with an appropriate trigger warning. Users can choose to click the link or not. I have posted a link to the story below.

    Trigger Warning.

    https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/mum-murdered-son-10-found-25211396

I think it is important to note that the mother was also autistic and battling depression. It is a tragic case which highlights the lack of effective support for autistic adults, especially if they are struggling to cope with the demands of parenting. If such news stories aren't shared within the autistic community how are things ever going to change.

I saw your original post last night and I thought it was a very upsetting read. I realise not everyone can read such things but I think it's good that some do as it will get the message out there that we should not be treated in such ways.

That is an event and memory of some considerable note Robert.  I can't begin to imagine.  I hope that you and your mother were able to repair either apart or together - or both.  We do seem to "get it" for being how and who we are quite often....but your experience is at another level of complexity, well beyond my comprehension.

    With respect

I won't post the full article because it is quite distressing about a mother killing her son because she was unable to cope with his autism.

It's personal to me because when I was around six or seven my mother also tried to kill me by smashing my head repeatedly against a kitchen wall because she too was unable to cope because I was mute and unable to communicate.

Yes I understand your point but but I think we all have a responsibility to keep each other safe from harmful and extremely distressing content.

Everyone's adult here if you don't like the topic don't read it. No one forces you to do or read anything.

Then FFS, lets all see it then......and yet......I can't say that because I have no idea what it is.

A vote is daft.  Measured opinion is best.

Robert, you are an elder in this place, in the best sense of that word.

You have seen a lot of autistic (and other) people come and go around this place.

Let us not all fall into dispute.

You are a hard man to reach.  It feels like this article is the best way for you to reach out and explain something.  I want to know, mainly because I want to know you better.

You can PM it to me if you would prefer.  Full discretion.

    Let's have a vote.

Who wants to read the article that I posted and deleted a few minutes later?

It was especially relevant to me because I was in a similar situation at that age.

I don’t think it is a good idea to post this article on here as many of our autistic community members could be triggered. Please can you remove it?
