Perfect jobs for people with autism.

This was keeping me up last night thinking about it. My brain is like that, once it locks on up a certain thought that's it, no sleep, no food.. just thinking time.

So what do you think r.e. this question?

I thought one of the most obvious perfect jobs for someone with autism must be a detective!

Nearly every detective I've watched on TV and read about is so OCD, they notice every little detail which everyone else misses and they are always thinking and over analysing everything - and a lot of them appear to be socially awkward, but that's ok, they have a plucky younger assistant to do the talking for them!

Well, not Columbo, but he kept his talking to a minimum anyway. Wink 

In my opinion I think being a detective would be so well suited for someone with autism - and if you don't like blood it doesn't have to be a homicide detective, there's lots of other branches you can go in to.

Ok I'm feeling like I should be working at the job centre now getting people the jobs they should be in lol. Laughing

  • I do content writing which is absolutely perfect. I've been doing it since 2011 and have never had to communicate in any format other than written, I work from home, I can choose to take on work or not depending on how I'm feeling, and it's easy which means I can complete it quickly and have lots of time left over for my special interests. Unfortunately AI is now better at most of it than I am and so it's getting very difficult to find enough work. This is definitely not a time I would recommend to get started with it.

    I also did students' math/science projects for money for a while (through an essay mill) but it didn't pay anywhere near as well. Which is a shame because getting paid to do coursework, rather than paying to get access to a course, was great.

    My dream job would be studying for and sitting exams.

    I have no interest in tutoring as that involves interacting with people.
