Remembering lunch

Eating is important. Food is fuel. No food and eventually we'll die...prior to that depending on your health it could make you feel a bit bleh.

Despite the importance of eating, and the fact that I always pick up my lunch bag from the fridge, yesterday I completely forgot it and didn't even realise until lunch. Maybe it was Monday morning fever  *remembers what day it was*... Perhaps it was midweek fever Stuck out tongue but my mind was obviously on other things because when I checked my bag and then my locker...

No lunch bag!!!

I avoided a meltdown. It came close and I spent the whole afternoon with a headache and feeling utterly exhausted but meltdown was avoided. Somehow. I don't know how, maybe I'm getting better at handling these things?

I did go to the lunch hall and considered having a sandwich or something but when I opened the doors it was sheer chaos. There was so much noise I couldn't actually hear what was happening. There was chaos, people running around, drinks being spilt, shouting...I decided to play it safe and skip lunch as I think it would have been nuts to go in there!

So today I've made sure I'm up early... and my lunch bag is already in my school bag and so long as I remember my school bag lunch shouldn't be a problem today.

It's weird how something I pick up 5 days a week can be instantly forgotten like that No mouth

  • Ah Bee's I feel your pain. When I forgot lunch at one school you had to go to the office & get a special token whilst being told off, and go to the canteen, hand the token to an adult in the corner who told you off for forgetting we well. I would go without too cos that was way too humiliating! Not too mention noisy, why do canteens have such high ceilings?!

If your lunch box has a lid that separates could you put it on your bag so it falls when you pick up your stuff and reminds you to go and get your food? Also, if there are any protein bars/bought wrapped long life food that you could keep in your bag for emergencies? I used to keep tracker bars in my work desk for such days :)

Have a good day today :)

  • I'm not surprised you went without if they put you through all that just because you forgot your lunch! I think reactions like that is massively unfair on their part and when you're a bit younger you're more likely to be affected mentally but I don't think they ever consider that sort of thing...

I had a good day thanks Slight smile and I had my lunch lol. Friday tomorrow and then I'm free for another weekend!
