I was messaging my brother on WhatsApp, and he told me that he plans to visit, during Christmas. This is a shell shock to me, as I assumed he was away for good. Plus, I planned to visit an old School friend, who moved to Pennsylvania twenty-five years ago, for Christmas at his old home. Also, I planned to have Christmas dinner with an old Neighbour, then Boxing Day dinner with my current Neighbour.

Now I'm starting to agitate. I'm questioning his true motive. Is he snooping on me?

Anyway, there's a B and B a few houses away, from here, he can book for then.

  • That's something that he can't just plan without your prior notice. He can't just invite himself over like that. I mean, if I just said "next week I'm just going to party at your house and eat all your food because I feel like it" you'll be like wtf?

    I don't think that you should just allow anyone to invite themselves over, regardless of who they are. I wouldn't allow my brother, sister, or whoever else, into my home, without my prior permission. They'll just have to make other plans. 

    I've heard stories of people just "visiting" who end up as "squatters," which are people who stay at a place rent-free, and they refuse to leave. 

    I mean your brother's request could have been innocent enough, and he could just be to visiting for Christmas, maybe he wants presents, I don't know, but if it doesn't align to your plans, then he'll have to figure something else out.
