Unwelcome stubble

As much as I love my son, I am starting to develop an intense dislike of his facial hair. Don't get me wrong, I think it suits him when he goes through spells of not shaving. The issue I have is when he hasn't shaved and he decides to plant a kiss on my forehead. Whilst it is lovely when he is affectionate, it's the unpleasant sensation of his prickly stubble coming into contact with my skin that I object to.

For a while, I have been toying with the idea of getting my son an electric shaver for Christmas, but my mind is now made up. I need to order one and give it to him as an early Christmas present so that he can start using it before his prickly stubble results in piercing the skin on my forehead, and I end up needing stitches. I have no desire to end up on the front cover of a tabloid newspaper, with the headline, "Mother sues son for serious life-changing injury caused by stubble!" Laughing

To any males with facial hair reading this... It might well make you look handsome, distinguished, etc, but it can feel flipping lethal when it comes into contact with the skin of another person.

Please note, this post isn't intended to be taken too seriously. It's just my attempt at some light-hearted banter.

  • Being a single female, that is one thing I definitely don't miss. When I was in the 'honeymoon' phase with an ex-boyfriend, I remember my chin would frequently feel sore and look red after a lengthy bout of kissing. Not easy trying to find a good angle to kiss that (a) avoids contact with stubble, and (b) feels comfortable, whilst also trying to avoid bumping noses. Laughing
