Unwelcome stubble

As much as I love my son, I am starting to develop an intense dislike of his facial hair. Don't get me wrong, I think it suits him when he goes through spells of not shaving. The issue I have is when he hasn't shaved and he decides to plant a kiss on my forehead. Whilst it is lovely when he is affectionate, it's the unpleasant sensation of his prickly stubble coming into contact with my skin that I object to.

For a while, I have been toying with the idea of getting my son an electric shaver for Christmas, but my mind is now made up. I need to order one and give it to him as an early Christmas present so that he can start using it before his prickly stubble results in piercing the skin on my forehead, and I end up needing stitches. I have no desire to end up on the front cover of a tabloid newspaper, with the headline, "Mother sues son for serious life-changing injury caused by stubble!" Laughing

To any males with facial hair reading this... It might well make you look handsome, distinguished, etc, but it can feel flipping lethal when it comes into contact with the skin of another person.

Please note, this post isn't intended to be taken too seriously. It's just my attempt at some light-hearted banter.

  • cut hair ends are typically very rough whereas natural hair ends that have never been cut tend to be quite soft and don’t cause such irritation. It’s why some barbers actually burn the ends of cut hair lightly. To soften them and make them less abrasive.

if you want to remove your facial hair in such a way that it won’t grow back prickly you can always do Turkish beard waxing.

it gives a smoother finish than any shave, lasts longer, and it grows back with soft ends. It is quite hard to find professionals who do it and it’s fairly painful.
