Superb new cat litter...

We recently had a bit of an issue with one of our cats deciding she didn't want to use the cat litter. I'll give her her due, she was really careful to pick her alternative place (a small plant pot sized bucket was her initial choice) but there was obviously a problem.

A problem that was happily solved by giving her her own cat bog to use, AND a new type of litter.

The experimental new litter is not only a hit with her but also with me.

It has SUPERB clumping properties, really easy to scoop and bits don't fall off whilst transferring it to the biodegradeable bag, (which I twist and put in the bucket so I can use each bag more efficiently) and it seems to take care of that horrible "ammonia hit" one can get when scooping, and replace it with a really quite pleasant coco-nutty sort of smell, making the job FAR less unpleasant to do.  

It is called "Catit" brand "Go natural" pea husk clumping cat litter, and a box is probably expensive, but it IS efficient and has improved the quality of my life and the air quality in our house.

    I particularly don’t like “ typical” cats that are left free to roam their neighbourhood and crap all over my lawn. I don’t like it when birds that are feeding in my garden are killed by the cats.

    I don’t think any less of people who love cats, that’s their choice. It is not illegal to own a cat.

    Your cat litter discovery will hopefully be very helpful for likeminded people and that they will be grateful for your advice.

    But im afraid that it’s not for me. 

    maybe I shouldn’t of even bothered clicking on you OP, let alone providing this utterly useless response.

    GPK26, You don't have to like cats!

    FWIW, Not all cats are murderous little gits, a combination of adequate feeding and playing seems to eliminate that need in some cats and vastly reduce it in others. 

    There is a big difference between cat owners and cat people and cats seem to be have differently, depending on what sort of people (or other environmental factors) in which they live.

    I am sorry you have one that is using your lawn for it's toilet. It's a fairly easily fixable problem most likely if you are prepared to learn a bit of cat whispering skills. (You don't have to like 'em just understand them enough to dissuade them from crapping on your lawn) or have access to a "cat person" in your life.

    The essence of cats is that they don't do what they are TOLD, but when it suits them most (but not the bonkers ones) will reliably do what is ASKED of them. And they are amazingly good at working out what it is you are asking of them when they choose to be. 

    Dealing with "cattitude" is very frustrating to many humans, but enjoyable for some of us, who share it..

    As with humans, it's all about where they come from.

    When you claim your post is "utterly useless", maybe not. I'm glad you mentioned finding some issues with cats and their behaviour. MAYBE there's be something in my response that helps you find a resolution to one of life's little annoyances. Cat crap. Nobody likes it, especially on their lawn. If you want practical help working that particular problem, just ask.

    I have had five cats over my life and all of them would typically come in from outside, through the cat flap, to use the litter tray.
