Scam calls.

Have any of you received suspicious scam calls recently?

Today I got a call claiming to have an urgent message for me from the immigration service. I was asked to press 1 for English or 2 for Chinese. I hung up.

Last year I got a call that there was a £600 transaction on my visa credit card and asking me to press 1 to speak to an advisor if I didn't recognise the transaction.  I don't have a visa  credit card.

  • I started getting fewer scam calls after switching to a new provider that uses call center software to filter out known spam numbers. It didn’t stop all of them, but it made a noticeable difference. I also added my number to the TPS list, and between that and blocking numbers manually, things got a bit more manageable. It still sucks when a fake one slips through though.
