Trying to fight for EHC assessment and support

Hi everyone.

I'm totally new to this forum which I've joined in the hope that someone can help me as I'm very stressed.

My 7yr old child is on the autism spectrum.  She's been supported by SEN with the school.  She hasn't been officially diagnosed yet because she's still on a waiting list.  She is also being seen by a paediatrician.

The school has advised that she needs a lot of one-to-one support, but the school is struggling to meet her needs and is doing what it can within it's current means.

The school recently applied on our behalf to the local authority for EHC to carry out an assessment, but it got swiftly rejected, so we now have to involve a mediator and appeal.

I don't know what to do, what to write or who to turn to.

Can please anyone advice?

Thanks in advance.

Also make as many notes as you can about difficulties she has in school and how this affects her at home. I kept a diary of anything that showed stress due to not coping at school. I used details from this in my appeal to the tribunal which resulted in the EHCP being granted.
