I'm talking Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor (when it was running), The Voice UK etc. I'm well aware that these shows are an acquired taste and they've not treated people like us brilliantly in the past, but they've been my special interest for 15 years (and have definitely improved in terms of safe guarding practices).
I was invited to watch the BGT auditions in 2022. I had contacted someone who worked on it the previous summer with some suggestions, and they said they (and their colleagues) were really impressed with me.
I even tried to apply for it in 2012 but it didn't go very far. I didn't have much of a talent!
I find myself watching clips from it almost daily. I almost feel like a proud parent when I see a former contestant from these shows enjoying success outside of it.
