Who also enjoys watching TV talent shows?

I'm talking Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor (when it was running), The Voice UK etc. I'm well aware that these shows are an acquired taste and they've not treated people like us brilliantly in the past, but they've been my special interest for 15 years (and have definitely improved in terms of safe guarding practices).

I was invited to watch the BGT auditions in 2022. I had contacted someone who worked on it the previous summer with some suggestions, and they said they (and their colleagues) were really impressed with me.

I even tried to apply for it in 2012 but it didn't go very far. I didn't have much of a talent!

I find myself watching clips from it almost daily. I almost feel like a proud parent when I see a former contestant from these shows enjoying success outside of it. Smiley

  • Hi I'm new just joined after recommended by my GP.

I've religiously watched BGT and X-Factor since I was a child, I'm lucky that my mum also enjoys and we watch it together.

My dad does as well but under protest. Lol. Rofl I've recently started watching The Voice as well, have you seen? BGT is my fav though for sure.

When I was 12 something new and a girl from school worked hard on a magic show which we promised each other we would do on BGT but we never did lol. I still do magic stuff when I can, still haven't got on BGT yet.

  • I don't love Voice UK as much as the other two but I like watching it, although the Kids version seems to have a larger sense of fun surrounding it.

I don't know that many people in my life who also enjoyed the shows as much as I did (certainly in recent years) but it was nice to talk to the odd person I knew about it.

I wanted to go on it as a singer but I didn't have much experience!

  • I like the kids version it's definitely more upbeat and fun.

The girl at school used to like BGT and X-Factor but in Year 9 she moved away to Cornwall, we lost touch and I haven't heard from her for years now. My mum's the only person who enjoys the same things I do lol.

Do you still sing? I love singing but my anxiety causes me a severe sore throat and I can't sing as much for long now.
