What exactly are social influencers? 

Why does anyone take any notice of them and spend money on their recommendations?

How does one become a social influencer?

  • It's essentially just an evolution of regular celebrity. Celebrity endorsements have been a thing forever and obviously they work or companies would've stopped spending money on them. A person making popular makeup tutorials or comedy skits on Tiktok isn't any less deserving of that celebrity than someone who appears on the TV. 

    As for why someone is more likely to buy cigarettes endorsed by Marlon Brando or whatever, idk. I don't think it really affects me personally.
