hi, i am a new user to this community and would welcome any advise.
My 9yr old sold was diagnosed with a high functioning asd last year. I myself work as a ta in a special school for high school pupils with learning difficulties and autisim. Just lately due to the way my son interacts with other children outside, sometimes older children, he can be very rude as he does not understand the social element and does not communicate in the way that we have tried help him. They laugh at him because of the way he talks to them, thus i am finding it very hard to handle this, sometimes unable to detach myself from being professional and being a mother and trying to protect him. When I am when at work find that i can help a autistic child and their behaviour. I would openly welcome any ideas as how i can help my son and how, if others have ever been in my situation.
