Arachnophobe practical question

So at the moment it's just me and my dog, but since I rarely go into the garden, in the last week it has filled with spiders. There are at least 3 with webs spread across the patio and more basically every few steps as you go further out.

So I'm basically trapped because I just can't stand the possibility of touching a web. I can't water the plants or put things in the compost bin or hang out washing.

I tried googling, but everything is geared towards actually overcoming arachnophobia and I really just want some way I can clear webs away without any chance of a web or spider touching any part of me. So does anyone have any ideas?

  • September is spider season, sadly.

Personally, I like them. I find them cute and they do eat germ ridden flies, but trying to think around it for you. Not nice not to be comfortable in your own garden.

Do you have someone who could clear them away for you?

I had a mate at uni with a big Spider phobia. She used to get me up in the middle of the night to catch them in a glass and put them out side.

Otherwise, waving a brush before you as suggested by Debbie might work.
