What can you hear right now?

A kind of take on Debbie’s thread. Mainly because I am sitting in the garden, and realised how many noises are annoying me, despite it being quiet with no immediate neighbours outside. Noise sensitivity is a HUGE issue for me. Anyway, noises that I can hear right now -

- The jackdaws making a racket

- Plane over head

- Child crying in the distance

- Someone’s smoke alarm with them intermittently shouting out to Simon whoever he may be

- The dull drone of the busy A road nearby (especially motorbikes)

- A train

- My noisy trousers every time I move

- Someone coughing which really doesn’t sound too healthy at all

- The chinking of plates as I presume someone clears up after dinner

- Someone watering their garden

They’re not all annoying me, mostly the child and alarm. It just made me realise just how many things I pick up. In the time it took me to write this there are so many more noises but I’m not going to list them all!

Anyone else with noise issues?

  • I hear a lot of things, including sounds in the distance that don't bother others. When it is bird song ( not pigeons, monotonous sound), I enjoy it and helps me relax.

Currently a dog yapping. It goes on for ages and sometimes others reply.

  • Same here. And my family think I’m nuts and imagining it! But I then become fixated on it too and can’t concentrate on anything I’m supposed to be doing.

I have dogs but I’m generally quick to know what they want or how to divert a situation so we rarely have my own barking. Other dogs in the distance constantly barking drives me nuts.
