Do you like your birthday

I read the page on Christmas & am curious now what you think of your birthday.

I don't like my birthday. I don't like the attention, I don't like that everyone comes round to see me & I hate the fact I'm getting older. I'm 17 next year & it's scary. I never feel like celebrating, I never see nothing to celebrate.

Birthdays & Christmas are things I wish the world lived without. It would be better for me if this was the case.

  • I’m ok with it now that I’m in a good relationship but most of my life I’ve detested it, I don’t mind at all the increasing age numbers but it’s been the same as new year and Xmas where I’ve usually felt everyone is having a good time except me, not ironically that I’m remotely interested in the things most people do at these times, the drinking to get drunk, the religion, the intense close family gatherings, the over eating etc, it’s just the sense of isolation and being an outsider. It’s complex I know.
