Do you like your birthday

I read the page on Christmas & am curious now what you think of your birthday.

I don't like my birthday. I don't like the attention, I don't like that everyone comes round to see me & I hate the fact I'm getting older. I'm 17 next year & it's scary. I never feel like celebrating, I never see nothing to celebrate.

Birthdays & Christmas are things I wish the world lived without. It would be better for me if this was the case.

I don't mind my birthday as such but I hate the usual ways of celebrating it. I don't want a party, I don't want surprises, and I DEFINITELY don't want people to sing the happy birthday song. I just want to spend the day reading any new books I've received and eating birthday cake. As an adult I've found it a lot easier- partly because I've had more birthdays and partly because I have a lot more control over my life. If I want to sit at home alone in my pyjamas on my birthday then I can do that now and there's not a lot anyone else can do about it!

I usually spend my birthday reading in my room as well. What do you like to read?

Or I'll be doing videos for YT or watch videos on YT. I don't have parties anymoy though thankfully they were way too stressful for me.

I read a lot of fantasy, and also non-fiction- usually science and history.
