Christmas Stories

It may be September, but we’re keen to hear your stories of how you make Christmas work for you or how you make Christmas autism-friendly. We know that while Christmas can be an exciting time for some autistic people, it can also be overwhelming due to increased sensory experiences, changes in routines, and expectations about how to celebrate.

We’d love to hear your stories of how you make the festive season work for you, and your family and friends. Share your experience below or by emailing stories@nas.org.uk

  • TRIGGER WARNING - AND I HAVE BEEN TRIGGERED !!

    Ho, ho ho.

Christmas is the worst time of the year in most respects and I make it work by NOT THINKING ABOUT IT IN SEPTEMBER !!!!

I'm off to strangle an Elf with some tinsel !

Another thread title in a similar vein (from my persepctive) .........

"Death" - We all must experience it, so how do you make it work? - share your experience?

    Grumpy Number.

I've heard of choking the chicken but this is a new one to me...

I blame it on the eggnog - frightful stuff.

At least I get to look forward to Christmas on the beach here in Brazil - it will be mid summer so probably 30-35C, lots of great food, cold beer and hot locals in the tiniest of swimming cozzies - makes me feel young again.

Anyone fancy getting away from it all?
