Going on vacation

Is this something you do? Does it affect your anxiety?

I like going on vacation but only if it's my sort of vacation. I haven't vacationed since living in the UK but back home I vacationed in our RV and also went camping with a tent. I found both fun and interesting experiences.

I've also been to hotels and log cabins but they were less fun as there was generally a lot of people also staying which I found difficult to cope with and did have meltdowns a couple of times.

Personally going on a vacation in the RV with my family is my go to vacation. Perfect for me. Got the comfort and privacy of the RV and if didn't like where we were we could literally just go somewhere else.

I also enjoyed tenting as it was a different life for a short time. Fishing with my Grandpa so we could eat. And telling stories round the campfire.

I did enjoy that.

I'm not sure where good vacation spots are round the UK? I looked online but a lot of the places it suggests are like London but that's meant to be a busy place.

  • Hi, I’ve found going away with our own caravan  bearable, as you said, if I don’t like somewhere then we just move on. We went to a site near Cheddar last time and I found it nice, we had our privacy but could walk to a bar and have a meal outside. Wells is nearby and is beautiful, it was the filming location for the film Hot Fuzz. Loads of space and nice walks. The caravan has central heating and a proper bathroom so I don’t have to use the site’s facilities. If we don’t use the caravan then it doesn’t have to be taxed insured or have an MOT, sometimes we don’t use it for a couple of years. The sites often have static holiday home, if winter then we book those as they are cheaper in the winter. I find long weekends better than a week away, don’t tend to go away in school holidays as it can the be noisy. Another nice side to our own caravan is bringing my own food and possessions.
